How we operate
Registration and set-up

The Herb Booth is a practitioner only service. You must be a qualified TCM practitioner to access the site, and must register prior to your first login.

Within 24 hours of registering (excluding Sundays and public holidays) we will email you to confirm whether your registration has been successful. To be granted access to the site we do require that you are a qualified herbal medicine practitioner, as belonging to either:
Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA);
Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA);
Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS);
Federation of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Societies, Australia (FCMA);
or if in Victoria, the:
Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Victoria.
Once you have received a confirmation email you will be able to login using your user name and password.  A set-up wizard will assist you with setting your preferences.

Simple online ordering system

The main page of the practitioner area allows you to construct your formulas. Begin by entering the patient’s name - if you have ordered for that patient before a list of past orders will appear.

You can now start building your formula by adding herbs to the list from any combination of 4 different sources – our list of single herbs, a list of classical formulas, past orders and from your own saved ‘clinic’ formulas. You can construct up to 4 formulas per order.

The single herbs and classical formulas can be sorted alphabetically or by category, and single herbs can also be sorted by Pin Yin or English, depending on your preference.

Cost and payment

Most herbs are classified as ‘standard’ herbs and are charged at a per-gram rate which decreases as the size of your order increases. ‘Premium’ herbs are charged at their own flat per-gram rate.

Detailed pricing information for each herb is contained in the practitioner-only section of this website. The cost of your order is calculated as you go so you can monitor your spend at all times.

Pay for your orders by credit card via our secure electronic payment gateway, or otherwise by direct deposit.

Your patients will pay you directly for their herbs. You can charge your patient as you wish, and a retail calculator is provided on our website. Our competitive rates allow you to add a 19-30% mark-up without the work associated with stocking and dispensing your own herbs.*

Packaging and labelling

Formulas, once dispensed, are packed into heavy duty, tamper evident, snap lock pouches.

Formula labels print unique to each order based on the information specified by you during the ordering process. Labels include your practitioner information, patient details, formula name, list of ingredients and dosage instructions.

Postage

Formulas can be posted to your clinic or directly to your patient by regular or express post. All address information can be stored in the website for future orders.

Each order packs flat allowing it to be posted as a large letter. This means inexpensive postal rates to anywhere in Australia and saves your patients from unnecessary trips to the post office as they will fit in most standard sized letter boxes.

* Mark up here is calculated on an average sized order of 12-18g of extract per day, over 14 days, at a recommended retail rate of $0.30/g. The mark-up however will vary, up or down, depending on both your retail rate and the size of the order. The practitioner-only pages of this website contain more detailed pricing information.
